An intrepid team-Dave, Glynn, Paul A, Pat and myself set forth to once again try to sample the starlings roosting at the reserve. No sign of any until quite late had us wondering if the visit had been in vain. Then all of a sudden they appeared and were into the area where our nets were--the Swedish roost songs/calls track working wonders yet again.
A rapid response from the team and we were in out and all all away by 17.20; with 58 new starlings and 8 new reed buntings ringed. Great practice for us all--especially Pat as his training progresses nicely. Col
